Four Things we learn about worship from Romans 11:33-36

Feel free to read Romans 11:33-36 here.

  1. There should be no worship without truth. Vs. 34 is a quote of Isaiah 40:13 and vs. 35 is of Job 41:11. Knowing Scripture intimately makes an enormous difference in expressing praise.
  2. There should be no teaching or study of truth without worship. Paul uses his study of truth to immediately praise God. Truth is a gateway to praise. We must feel its power.
  3. Doctrines that exalt God lead to the greatest joy. Praise comes to the degree that we see our weakness and complete dependence on God.
  4. We do not need to understand everything to praise the God who does. A God who we could fully grasp, discern and explain would be fairly limited.
