Who Am I to Complain When I Don’t See Fruit?

Confession: Sometimes pastors get really, really tired of standing with an open Bible in front of people with closed hearts.  So why do we do it?

Isaiah 55:10-11 says,

“The rain and snow come down from the heavens
and stay on the ground to water the earth.
They cause the grain to grow,
producing seed for the farmer
and bread for the hungry.
11 It is the same with my word.
I send it out, and it always produces fruit.
It will accomplish all I want it to,
and it will prosper everywhere I send it.

God’s holy word will always get results.  God’s commitment to His word is one of the greatest works.  So who am I to complain when I don’t see its fruit?

  1. …I enjoy reading your blog. Your words make me think about what you’re saying, instead of just ” preaching”. I often go back to posts and reread. Thanks for the fruit!!
