God Doesn’t Pamper

It seems to me that the only time we really struggle with God’s sovereignty is when painful circumstances come that are not the direct results of choices we’ve made.

It sounds like this, “How can a loving God allow such suffering?”

God’s love is not a pampering love.  God’s love is a perfecting love.  God is not in the business of trying to figure out how He can plant a bigger smile on our faces.  God is in the process of growing us and changing us.  His love is a transforming love.

Sometimes we demand, “Why did you do this?”  God asks, “Can you thank Me for trusting you with this experience even if I never tell you why?”
