If anyone thinks that Satan has wholly been defeated in the here and now, they are mistaken. The outcome of the war is assured but each battle has consequences.
“Satan hindered us,” said Paul in 1 Thessalonians 2:18.
Why would the devil care about Paul and take so much interest in keeping these three men from that particular church?
It demonstrates the wonderful importance of Christian ministers!
The master of evil was far more concerned about these three humble preachers than Nero or Tiberius! They preached the name that made Hell tremble.
Satan always hates Christian fellowship; it is his policy to keep Christians apart. Anything which can divide saints from one another he delights in. Since union is strength, he does his best to promote separation.
“Satan hindered us” is the testimony by which all the saints in heaven will bear against the archenemy.
