Not sure who said these. I don’t think I made them up. Found in my journal from this date in 2003.
Good leaders “fix what’s broke.” Great leaders help people to see that they “are broken.”
AND
Great conviction about great truth breeds great courage.
What do you think about those?

Marcus-
The courage part reminds me of something that I wanted to share with you from this weekend. I was in the Atlanta airport flying home from helping my sister through her hip replacement(all went well) in Baltimore. I noticed a large group of soldiers at the gate next to mine. There was a soldier in line behind me when I went to get a sandwich, and I thought “What can I do for this guy?” So when it was my turn, I ordered my food, then I turned and touched his arm and said “I would like to buy this young man’s dinner too.” He was surprised and thrilled all at one time. We chatted while our food was prepared, and I found out he was coming off leave and headed back to Baghdad. He thanked me more than one, and we shook hands when we parted, and I thanked HIM.
It was just a small way to show my appreciation for one of America’s finest. Both of my parents served in WWII. Where would we be now without all of those courageous folks?
Have a good day, and thanks for letting me share.

PS The twin grandsons of my friend were born this week at almost 33 weeks of age, and both are doing fine. Thanks for all of your prayers for their safe arrival.
Thanks for sharing and setting the example! All of us should be doing something for our men and women who defend and serve us. What I think is cool is that you had to step out of your comfort zone. I know a lot of people who would have thought about doing what you did but then would have froze. Also, great to hear about the twins. May they live a blessed and long life.
